Scott R. Erickson, General Agent of Erickson Financial Services, is an independent broker servicing the state of Colorado.  Scott Erickson obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting, Marketing and Economics from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) in 1990.   He has been servicing the state of Colorado as an independent broker for Colorado health insurance products since 1997.   Scott began his career as an agent with New England Financial Services.  He was mentored by a friend and long-time representative of New England Financial Services named Edward Hook, who retired about five years after Scott began his career.  As an agent approaching retirement, it was not easy for Ed to trust just anyone to become the new servicing agent for his hard-earned book of business.  Ed embraced Scott  as his replacement and respected Scott for his integrity, self-motivation, knowledge in the industry and unique ability to listen closely to and understand each client's needs.  Ed worked closely with Scott during that five year period before retirement, introducing Scott to his existing clientelle, who were primarily located in the Breckenridge, Vail Valley and Colorado Springs areas.  During their time together, Scott and Ed continued to grow their business together into the Steamboat Springs area as well.  Today, EFS has a presence in the Steamboat, Vail and Summit County areas, as well as along the Front Range.  We expect that our internet presence will allow us to extend our outstanding services to new clients all across the State of Colorado. 

EFSBenefits.com was recently created and marketed (as of October of 2006) to better service the existing clientelle of Erickson Financial Services as well as to provide detailed and accurate information to those investigating individual, family or group health benefits.  We have truly made an effort to provide as much information as possible in a sensible and "easy to use" format.  We are looking forward to feedback about our site and encourage you to send us your comments about the quality of our services. 

Scott Erickson's services include, but are not limited to; group benefit planning; and group, individual and family health, dental, vision, life, disability and long-term care insurance sales.  Our team is well-known for thoughtful and detailed service both at the time of, and long after, the sale.

During the past 10 years, the foundation of Erickson Financial Services has been built upon creative benefit planning and implementation for small, Colorado businesses with 1-50 members.  Our staff is dedicated to serving the needs of our clients.  Our service specialists can be considered an extension of your HR department assisting with group enrollments, plan changes, additions, terminations, claims issues, billing problems, general questions, and other administrative tasks. 

We pride ourselves on our ability to assist group administrators, group members, and individuals and families in a timely and efficient manner.

Our renewals specialist organizes competitive quotes annually for each of our existing groups prior to renewal, ensuring that our groups receive the best possible rates and coverage from the largest and most reputable insurance carriers year after year.  These rates, plans, and creative benefit designs are reviewed and presented in person by Scott Erickson to each group administrator on an annual basis.  We will also quote "off-renewal" plan changes to any existing or new group by request.

1. )  Appointments

  • We are appointed with every major carrier in the State of Colorado, and we have a professional business relationship with each one of these carriers giving us the ability to move applications through underwriting in a timely and efficient manner.  Since every applicant is unique, we have the ability to prescreen anonymously to prevent an unnecessary decline, and we will always select a carrier that we feel will offer the best and most affordable coverage for the situation at hand.   Any information that you share with our team will always be held personal and confidential.

2.)   Experience / Customer Satisfaction

  • Erickson Financial Services has served hundreds of satisfied customers during the past 10 plus years.  Our general agent, Scott Erickson, is extremely knowledgeable in the industry.   When you work with Scott Erickson and his team, you can rest assured that you will consistently receive friendly, professional service and excellent advice both at the time of, and long after, the purchase of your policy. 

3.)   Availability

  • Our team is available Monday through Friday via phone, email or in-person at your convenience.  (An appoinment  is required for a personal meeting).  For those who prefer to shop anonymously or simply like to shop online, our website is available 24 x 7 for self-service and quote requests.

4.)  Negotiation

  • Once you have submitted an application with our team, either online or by paper application, we will carefully follow through with the underwriting process, making sure that the application is submitted properly, and that the final offer is as expected.  If we feel that we may have the ability to negotiate an uprating, we will do our best to work with the underwriter to make sure our clients receive the best possible coverage at the lowest possible rate.

5.)  Annual Review

  • Each year, Erickson Financial Services will review your rates.  If we feel that we can lower your premiums by making a plan change or a switch to a new carrier that would be advantageous to you, we will contact you, prepare alternative quotes and inform you of your options.    Existing groups will recieve a formal, in-person, annual review with competitive quotes and recommendations.

6.)  And most importantly....Outstanding Customer Service!

  • Once an application is submitted, either online or on paper, Erickson Financial Services will monitor the status and keep you informed until the underwriting process is completed.  As soon as the application is approved, you will be notified immediately.
  • You are free to contact our office whenever a question, problem or need arises.  We are here to offer advice whenever necessary.  In addition, we are always happy to help with difficult claims issues, billing questions or problems, the addition and termination of dependents or employees, plan changes, and a variety of other administrative tasks.
  • If you are happy with your current health insurance policy,  but do not currently have an agent or broker, or if you have been unhappy with the service you have been receiving from your current agent or broker, our simple change of agent of record notice will allow you to take advantage of all of the services we provide.  Simply download this form , and mail or fax the completed form to our office.  We will notify you when it is received.  Although the official change may take up to 30 days to process, we will begin to service your account from the moment we receive your change request form.  Note :  By completing this form, you are in no way changing your existing coverage.  There is no extra cost added to your premiums when you add an agent to your policy or change your agent of record.
