**Update**
Aetna Advantage for Individuals and Families has pulled out of the market in the State of Colorado due to State specific healthcare reforms, including mandatory maternity coverage and gender-neutral rating, which rendered this insurance carrier unable to maintain competitive pricing in our state.  Effective 2/1/11, we are no longer able to provide quotes for health insurance products offered by Aetna.

Important Notice

  • Confirmation of Coverage:
    • If you apply online and do not receive an immediate confirmation that the application was submitted properly, please contact our office as soon as possible.  We cannot guarantee that your application was properly submitted unless you receive a confirmation.  If you prefer not to apply online, please download a paper application
  • Appointments:
    • If you are located nearby our office and would like to meet one of our agents to discuss your options and/or apply in person, please feel free to call our office to schedule an appointment.
  • Physician Directories (Preferred Provider Networks):
  • Preferred Rating:
    • Quoted rates are not guaranteed and are dependent upon the health insurance underwriter's final discretion. Do not be fooled by best rate guarantees offered by other agents.  Regardless of which agent, broker or agency you use, your final offer from the health insurance carrier will not vary and will be dependent upon your current health status.  We obtain your instant quotes directly from the largest and most reputable insurance carriers in the State of Colorado as do all other Colorado agents and brokers.  We are very particular about the carriers that we do business with.  Click here to view complaint ratios.  There are no "teaser rates".  While the large majority of people will qualify for the preferred, quoted premiums, there are a few applicants who may experience an up-rating because of ongoing pre-existing conditions (such as high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol), cost of current medications or body mass index (height/weight combination).  It is also possible to be declined for individual insurance coverage, if the insurance carrier feels that your current health status presents an unacceptable amount of risk.
    • Health Status:
      • In order to qualify for preferred (quoted) rating, you must be in excellent health and meet required height & weight guidelines. These guidelines may vary from one carrier to the next.  If you think that you may not qualify for preferred rating, please contact us for a customized quote.  If you have any ongoing or serious pre-existing health conditions, please contact our office for an anonymous prescreen prior to applying in order to determine likely underwriting outcome.  We will do the best we can to match you up with a carrier that will offer the most favorable underwriting outcome for your current health status.
    • Body Mass Index / Height & Weight Guidelines
      • Note:  Celtic Insurance has very stringent height and weight guidelines for qualification of preferred rating.  Most adults will fall into the "standard" category with Celtic insurance, which costs 10% more than the "preferred" (quoted) rates.  Please contact our office if you would like to know if you could qualify for preferred rating based on your current height and weight.
      • With most other carriers, approx. 60% of applicants will fall into the preferred (quoted) category.
      • If your Body Mass Index is greater than 30, it is very likely that you will experience a premium rating on your policy (in other words, you will not qualify for the preferred/quoted rates.)  It is also possible to be declined due to height & weight combination.  Each carrier has their own specific guidelines with regards to height and weight, so if you are overweight, it is always a good idea to check with a broker first, before applying, to make sure you will not be declined for coverage.
      • If your body mass index is greater than 30 AND you have additional health risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and/or you are a smoker, it is very possible that you may be declined for coverage.  Please contact us before applying to determine which carriers will be the most likely to offer coverage.
      • The various carriers all have different height & weight underwriting guidelines.  Carriers that offer the most flexibility in coverage guidelines for overweight individuals include Anthem, Celtic Insurance and Assurant Health.  If you are overweight, we recommend that you contact our office before applying to make sure that you will not be declined due to height and weight restrictions.
    • Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Readings
      • If you have had a history of elevated blood pressure or cholesterol, your readings must be within "normal" range and under control with either medication or diet and exercise for a minimum of 6 months after diagnosis in order to be eligible for an individual health plan.  A history of elevated blood pressure and/or cholesterol will result in a premium rating, which means that you will not qualify for preferred rates, regardless of whether the condition is under control with diet and exercise or medication.
